Creating Lasting Change: Partnering with YouMeWe to Empower the Next Generation

At Tokyo Yamathon, our mission extends beyond bringing people together for a day of adventure. We believe in creating meaningful, lasting impact within the communities we serve, and that is why we are proud to announce YouMeWe NPO as one of our official Community Impact Partners for Tokyo Yamathon 2026.

Based in Tokyo, YouMeWe has spent more than a decade supporting children and teenagers living in institutionalized care homes across Japan. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to help young people transition into adulthood as capable, confident, and financially independent members of society. Through education, mentorship, digital literacy programs, career preparation, financial literacy training, and personalized coaching, YouMeWe empowers youth to build brighter futures and expand the opportunities available to them.

For many young people leaving care homes at the age of 18, the transition into adulthood can be incredibly challenging. While they may have received essential care growing up, they often lack the long-term guidance, resources, and support networks that many others rely on when pursuing higher education, entering the workforce, or building independent lives.

YouMeWe works to bridge that gap by providing practical skills, mentorship, and encouragement that help young people succeed beyond the walls of the care system.

What particularly resonated with our volunteer team is YouMeWe’s belief that empowerment comes through opportunity. Their programs focus not only on immediate support but on helping young people develop the confidence, skills, and self-belief needed to create their own futures. Whether through digital education, career readiness programs, academic support, or mentoring relationships, their work is designed to create long-term,

sustainable impact.

This aligns closely with the values that drive Tokyo Yamathon.

As a volunteer-led organization, we believe in the power of community, connection, and collective action. Every year, thousands of participants, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters come together through Yamathon to demonstrate what can happen when people unite around a shared purpose. We know that strong communities are built when people invest in one another, and YouMeWe embodies that philosophy every day through its commitment to supporting vulnerable youth across Japan.

We were especially inspired by YouMeWe’s focus on creating lasting relationships and providing individualized support. Their work reminds us that meaningful change often begins with something simple: showing up, sharing your time, and believing in someone's potential. These are values that have always been at the heart of Tokyo Yamathon and our volunteer community.

By partnering with YouMeWe, we hope to help raise awareness of the challenges faced by young people transitioning out of care, while supporting programs that equip them with the tools, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive. Together, we can help create a future where every young person has the chance to pursue their goals, discover their strengths, and contribute positively to their communities.

We are honored to support YouMeWe as a Tokyo Yamathon 2026 Community Impact Partner and look forward to working together to create meaningful change.

Because when communities come together, every step has the power to make a difference.

As we prepare for Tokyo Yamathon 2026, we invite our community to learn more about the incredible work being done by YouMeWe and the difference they are making in the lives of young people across Japan. By supporting organizations that invest in people, potential, and long-term community development, we can help create a stronger and more inclusive

future for everyone.
